CIOB stands for the Chartered Institute of Building.

It is a globally recognized professional body based in the United Kingdom that represents professionals in the construction and built environment sectors. Established in 1834, the CIOB received its Royal Charter in 1980. The CIOB boasts a diverse membership of around 50,000 individuals across more than 100 countries, including professionals from various disciplines such as construction management, project management, surveying, design, education, and research. Different grades of membership are available, including Member (MCIOB) and Fellow (FCIOB), which signify chartered status and a high level of expertise and experience.

Chartered Status:

Achieving chartered status through the CIOB is a mark of professional excellence and signifies that an individual has met rigorous standards of knowledge, competence, and ethical conduct. Chartered members are entitled to use post-nominal letters (MCIOB or FCIOB) after their names.
